A construction worker who fell down a steep hillside in the Hollywood Hills Monday was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
Firefighters were sent to the 6900 block of West Oporto Drive at 7:20 a.m. to rescue the worker, who had fallen down a 30- to 40-foot hill, at about a 45-degree angle, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Fire crews were unable to get their rigs in the right position for the rescue operation, so a civilian’s vehicle, which had a hitch, was used as an anchor to rescue the man with the use of a two-line rope system and a litter basket, the LAFD reported.
The man, who is about 30 years old, was not publicly identified.
