Firefighters and a hazardous materials unit stopped a hazardous spill Sunday at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The slow leak of sodium hydroxide from a 20-foot container at the Yusen Terminals at 701 E. New Dock St. was reported at 3:44 p.m., said fire department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
The spill was capped and all fire department resources left the scene at 4:48 p.m., Stewart said.
No injuries were reported.
