A grease fire broke out late Thursday afternoon in a Chinese restaurant in Boyle Heights, but no injuries were reported.
The fire started about 4:20 p.m. in the 1800 block of East Marengo Street, near the San Bernardino (10) Freeway connector to the Golden State (5) Freeway, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Thirty firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze in about 10 minutes, and the fire did not spread to the attic or walls, Prange said.
