A brush fire broke out Friday afternoon in the vicinity of the Hansen Dam in Pacoima, but no one was injured.
The fire was reported about 1:50 p.m. near the 11000 block of North Dronfield Avenue, near Osborne Street, and burned a quarter to half-acre of medium-heavy brush in the area, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Nearly three dozen city firefighters, with help from county fire crews and a helicopter, extinguished the fames in about 40 minutes, Prange said.
The cause of the fire was being investigated.
