A 77-year-old man with dementia went missing in Lancaster and sheriff’s deputies asked for public assistance to find him.
Benjamin Jones was last seen about noon Thursday, in the 44500 block of 15th Street, between Avenue J and Lancaster Boulevard, according to Deputy Eric Ortiz of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. He was wearing a brown shirt and blue jeans.
Jones is black. He stands 5-feet-8 inches tall and weighs about 230 pounds. He has brown eyes and gray hair, Ortiz said.
Authorities circulated a photo of Jones and encouraged anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the sheriff’s Missing Persons Unit at 323-890-5500 or 911. Tipsters can also call 800-222-TIPS.
