A 64-year-old man who suffers from medical conditions went missing Tuesday in Lynwood, prompting the issuance of a Silver Alert.

William Hinton was last seen about noon near Carlin Avenue and Atlantic Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Hinton, who may become disoriented, is described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 173 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray short sleeve shirt and blue jeans, the CHP reported.

Authorities circulated a photo of Hinton and encouraged anyone with information about his whereabouts to call 911.

The Silver Alert program was established to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearance of elderly, developmentally disabled and cognitively impaired individuals, according to the CHP.
