A broken water pipe caused significant water damage in an eight-story building in downtown Los Angeles Tuesday evening.
An automatic alarm alerted the Los Angeles Fire Department about 6:40 p.m., and crews arrived to find four floors with water damage at the building in the 300 block of East Second Street, between San Pedro Street and South Central Avenue, according to Margaret Stewart of the LAFD.
The broken water pipe was on the seventh floor, Stewart said.
It was not immediately clear if the building was occupied, but no injuries were reported.
