Forty-three firefighters took 33 minutes Saturday evening to put out a rubbish fire that spread up into some trees in the Sepulveda Basin, authorities said.
Flames were reported at 8:36 p.m. in the 16900 block of West Victory Boulevard, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange said.
Embers were carried by the wind, igniting multiple grass fires and trees, Prange said.
The burn acreage was not immediately available, and the cause was unknown.
