Fox announced Tuesday it has renewed the family comedy “Last Man Standing” and the medical drama “The Resident.”
Both series are expected to begin their 2020-21 seasons at midseason. Fox unveiled its fall schedule May 11 with no live-action scripted series that aired on the network in the 2019-20 season.
“Last Man Standing” is Fox’s most-watched comedy, averaging more than 8 million multi-platform viewers. The series ranks among the season’s Top 10 comedies among viewers ages 18-49, the group targeted by Fox, according to data compiled by Nielsen.
“Last Man Standing” has aired for two seasons on Fox after airing on ABC from 2011-17.
“The Resident” averages nearly 10 million multi-platform viewers and is among the season’s 10 most-watched broadcast dramas among viewers 18-34 years old. It has aired for three seasons.
