County firefighters are battling a brush fire that so far has charred about 10 acres of grass in Pomona, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The fire which ignited near the westbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway and Fairplex Drive was reported at 5:23 p.m., fire department Dispatch Supervisor Cheryl Sims said.

“Right now the fire is holding at 10 acres,” Sims said.

The department sent nine engines, three water-dropping helicopters, five camp crews and three water tenders, Sims said. L.A. City Fire Department also sent a water-dropping helicopter, she added.

No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened, Sims said.
