Firefighters in Beverly Crest Sunday contained an approximately three-acre, medium-to-heavy brush fire that was slowly burning uphill but threatening no structures.

Firefighters dispatched at 9:07 a.m. to the 1300 block of North Lake Drive had the fire fully contained at 9:56 a.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

“The incident commander will be releasing the air resources, while the ground firefighters continue with the mop-op operations,” the department’s Margaret Stewart said. “The overhaul of this area will likely be an extended duration operation due to the mix of un-burned/partially burned and burned fuel within the containment zone.”
