The coroner’s office Monday released the name of a man who died after he jumped from Rindge Dam into Malibu Creek in Malibu.
Ruben Melgarejo, 26, was a Los Angeles resident, the coroner’s office said.
The incident was reported about 2:15 p.m. Sunday, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Sheryl Flores.
Firefighters found Melgarejo’s body at about 2:50 p.m., she said.
It’s unknown why he jumped into the water.
Rindge Dam is 100 feet tall, according to gohikeit.com.
