Firefighters Saturday stopped the forward progress of a brushfire in the Hansen Dam area of Los Angeles.
The one-acre brushfire was reported burning in medium-to-heavy brush at 4:52 p.m. at 11640 W. Foothill Blvd., Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said. The wind was 5 mph.
Firefighters aided by several Los Angeles County Fire Department companies were clearing lines of vegetation around the fire and putting out hot spots, Stewart said.
No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported, she said.
