A fire in a vacant, boarded-up two-story duplex in Hollywood was extinguished Friday by Los Angeles firefighters.
The blaze inside the building at 1514 N. Labaig Ave. was reported at 3:13 p.m., said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
The fire burned both the first and second floors of the building, Prange said.
Firefighters cut through the wall of a building to let out the intense heat inside, he said.
The department sent 49 firefighters to the scene and extinguished the flames in 36 minutes, he said.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
