A small fire that charred about one-tenth an acre of grass in Malibu was quickly dispatched by county firefighters, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The fire, which burned near 1925 Las Virgenes Road, was reported at 6:14 p.m., said Dispatch Supervisor Melanie Flores.

County firefighters with an assist from State Park Rangers stopped forward progress of the flames in less than 10 minutes, Flores said.

No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
