Firefighters Tuesday made quick work of a five-acre brush fire in the Mission Hills area.
The fire, which was reported about 11:40 a.m. near the 15000 block of West Mission Hills Road, may have been sparked by a transformer problem, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Some downed power lines were reported in the area, which is near Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, but no structures were damaged, the LAFD reported.
After about an hour, firefighters stopped all forward progress of the fire, and crews transitioned into an “overhaul/mop-up operation,” according to the LAFD.
