A fire blackened about half an acre of brush in the Malibu area Thursday, but no structures were threatened.
Firefighters were sent to the 20700 block of Rockpoint Way about 1 p.m. and had the blaze fully contained by 2:40 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
There was no immediate word on what sparked the fire, which burned uphill in light to medium brush.
