County firefighters knocked down a small brushfire that scorched less than an acre of grass Saturday in Palmdale, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The blaze ignited about 4:20 p.m. near the intersection of East Barrel Springs Road and 25th Street East, the department reported.
The department sent seven engines and one water-dropping helicopter to the scene, county Dispatch Supervisor Miguel Ornelas said. Forward progress of the fire was stopped at 4:44 p.m., he said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
