Firefighters have contained a brush fire that consumed an estimated acre and a half in Elysian Park.
The fire ignited near the southbound Harbor (110) Freeway and Stadium Way about 7:30 p.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange said.
The department dispatched 53 firefighters to the scene and knocked down the flames in about 40 minutes, Prange said.
No structures were threatened and no injuries reported. Firefighters stayed at the scene to mop up hot spots, Prange said.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation, he said.
