A small brush fire broke out Thursday in the riverbed of the Rio Hondo in Montebello, but crews got the blaze under control in less than an hour.

The “Lincoln Fire” was reported about 3:35 p.m. in the riverbed near Lincoln Avenue and San Gabriel Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

By 4:15 p.m., the one-acre fire was “under control,” an official with the fire department said.
