Firefighters were battling a brush fire of approximately two to three acres Monday near the Golden State (5) Freeway in Castaic.
Firefighters were dispatched at 8:55 a.m. to the southbound freeway, north of Lake Hughes Road, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher, who added that a second-alarm assignment of the blaze had been canceled.
The California Highway Patrol issued a Sigalert at 9:14 a.m. blocking all southbound lanes of the freeway at the 2,000-feet level for an unknown duration.
