Firefighters Monday knocked down a close to four-acre brush fire that had burned near the Golden State (5) Freeway in Castaic.
Firefighters dispatched at 8:55 a.m. to the southbound freeway, north of Lake Hughes Road, had the fire out at 9:41 a.m., according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher.
A Sigalert issued at 9:14 a.m. blocking all southbound lanes of the freeway at the 2,000-feet level was canceled at 10:54 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reported.
