A motorcyclist crashed Sunday evening on the transition road between the Santa Monica (10) Freeway and the Harbor (110) Freeway in Westlake, ejecting the rider who was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
The crash took place on the transition road from the westbound 10 Freeway to the 110 Freeway 6 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol Officer Peter Nicholson.
The rider was taken to California Hospital Medical Center and pronounced dead, Nicholson said.
The name of the deceased was withheld pending notification of next of kin. There was no word on the person’s gender or age.
A SigAlert was declared by the CHP at 6:26 p.m. The transition road was reopened around 7:30 p.m., Nicholson added.
