Water-dropping helicopters and ground resources helped firefighters extinguish a small brushfire that scorched about a half-acre of grass Saturday in the Sepulveda Basin.
The blaze near 5600 N. Woodley Ave. was reported at 6:07 p.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
Ground crews contained the fire in 27 minutes, he said. Crews will stay on scene to mop-up any hot spots.
No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened, he said.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation, he said.
