Firefighters Tuesday quickly extinguished a quarter-acre brush fire near the right shoulder of the southbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway in the Chatsworth area.

The fire was reported about 12:40 p.m. near the 11500 block of North Topanga Canyon Boulevard as the temperatures neared 100 degrees in Chatsworth, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The flames were extinguished in 26 minutes, the LAFD reported.

No structures were damaged, and no one was hurt. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
