Firefighters freed a person from the wreckage of a multi-vehicle crash on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Mission Hills Friday evening that injured five people, one critically.
The accident occurred just north of the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway about 9:55 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
A person who was trapped in a vehicle was freed by firefighters and taken to a hospital in critical condition. An additional four patients were being evaluated for non-life-threatening injuries, Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
The crash left vehicles in lanes of traffic and all northbound lanes of the freeway at the Ronald Reagan Freeway were stopped about 10:20 p.m., the CHP said.
