A single-story strip mall caught fire Monday in Gardena.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department learned of the blaze in the 10400 block of West Redondo Beach Boulevard at 10:48 a.m.
Four minutes later crews arrived to find a single story strip mall alight.
Investigators traced the source back to a kitchen in the building, and the gas company was notified, according to county fire spokesperson Lesie Lua.
By 11:03 a.m. firefighters had extinguished the flames.
The extent of the damage was still being assessed.
