An army of firefighters Saturday evening battled flames in a hillside home in Woodland Hills.

The fire was reported at 10:28 p.m. at 5169 N. Medina Road, said the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Nicholas Prange.

It took 66 firefighters 45 minutes to put out the flames that engulfed the top floor and attic of the ascending hillside home, Prange said. They protected nearby vegetation and homes, he said.

The flames were showing from the top floor of the three-story home when firefighters arrived, Prange said. They called for additional firefighters.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, he said.
