A man who was struck and killed while running on the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in the Willowbrook area over the weekend was identified Monday as a 20-year-old Los Angeles resident.
Matthew McGinnie was fatally injured about 3:45 a.m. Sunday on the westbound 105, west of Wilmington Avenue, according to the coroner’s office and the California Highway Patrol.
McGinnie, wearing a black T-shirt, was running back and forth in lanes and was jumping in front of vehicles as if trying to be hit, said CHP Officer Peter Nicholson. Witnesses told the CHP that vehicles were swerving to avoid hitting him.
