Two brushfires within 12 hours burned in the Hansen Dam Recreation Area in Lake View Terrace, authorities said Friday.
It took about 45 minutes for firefighters to stop all forward progress on a two-acre fire in medium brush reported at 1:42 a.m. in the 11400 block of West Osborne Street, said the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Margaret Stewart.
There were no injuries reported and firefighters expected to spend about an hour making sure all hot spots were out, Stewart said.
The other brushfire was reported at 2:37 p.m. Thursday covering less than one acre in the 12300 block of West Osborne Street. It was burning toward the dam wall, driven by winds of about 15 mph, she said.
All forward progress on that fire was stopped at 3:48 p.m. with no injuries or structure damage reported, Stewart said.
