A driver killed when his vehicle went off the Foothill (210) Freeway in Pasadena was publicly identified Sunday.

Randall Acosta, 30, was an Altadena resident, according to the coroner’s office.

The black Nissan Sentra was westbound on the Foothill Freeway when it went off the road near the Lincoln Avenue off-ramp at 8 p.m. Friday, according to Officer Patrick Kimball of the California Highway Patrol.

It landed in the area of Lincoln and Canada avenues, where the driver, now identified as Acosta, was pronounced dead, according to Kimball.

His passenger, whose condition was not available, was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital.

The Lincoln Avenue off-ramp was closed while officers investigated the crash.
