A hazardous-materials team was sent to clean up a small amount of a substance that spilled from a vehicle that crashed in Arleta Monday.

The crash was reported at 7:55 a.m. near the 1300 block of West Osborne Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

One person was injured in the crash and was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

“There are no injuries or illness related to the spill, which has been isolated,” an LAFD statement said.

“Though there is no need for an evacuation, LAFD has cordoned off and removed occupants from (a) convenience store, the interior of which will be evaluated for contamination,” the LAFD reported.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area while the cleanup operation was conducted.
