Firefighters worked Friday morning to extinguish a blaze that tore through an apartment building in the Hollywood Hills.
Crews responded at 4:52 a.m. to the 1700 block of North Courtney Avenue, near Hollywood Boulevard, and found heavy fire coming from two stories of the multi-level building and at least one nearby building exposed to flames, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“Firefighters are making good progress with fire remaining in hard to reach sections of the structure,” Stewart said.
Pack rat conditions inside the building were posing challenges to firefighters, she said.
No injuries were reported.
