A greater-alarm fire that broke out Friday in a vacant two-story house in the Westlake area was knocked down in just under an hour.
The fire was reported about 1:10 p.m. in the 900 block of South Park View Street, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
The flames extended from the first floor into the second floor and attic, but firefighters stopped the blaze from damaging other exposed buildings, according to the LAFD.
It took 88 firefighters about 50 minutes to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported, LAFD said.
There was no immediate word on what may have sparked the blaze.
