A man jumped to his death from the Seventh Street overcrossing onto the southbound Harbor (110) Freeway in the downtown Los Angeles area Friday, authorities said.
The unidentified man died at the scene shortly before 9 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Downtown freeway traffic was jammed as four southbound lanes were closed while an investigation was conducted into the death. All lanes were reopened shortly before 11 a.m., the CHP reported.
There was no word from authorities of a possible motivation for the suicide leap. They did not disclose if the man died from the fall or if he was struck by any vehicle.
