A California Highway Patrol officer was injured Monday on the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway, possibly when hit by a vehicle while investigating a call of a pedestrian on the roadway, authorities said.
The officer was injured about 7:15 a.m. near Arlington Avenue, and was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, the CHP reported.
The Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the westbound freeway were closed and Nos. 1-4 lanes of the eastbound freeway were closed in the area while an investigation was conducted.
