Fire ripped through the detached garage of a home in South Los Angeles Tuesday evening, causing minor damage to a nearby home, before being extinguished by firefighters.
Crews responded about 9:55 p.m. to the 1800 block of West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, near Western Avenue, and found the structure fully involved with fire and the flames had spread to some nearby plants, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A total of 46 firefighters worked to extinguish the flames and a knock down was called at 10:15 p.m., Prange said.
A nearby home sustained minor exterior damage, he said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
