A brush fire in Lake View Terrace scorched less than a quarter-acre Wednesday evening before being contained by firefighters.
Crews responded about 10:10 p.m. to the 11400 block of Foothill Boulevard, near the Foothill (210) Freeway, and found a quarter-acre had burned with a slow rate of spread, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A total of 22 firefighters, with assistance from the Los Angeles County Fire Department, extinguished the flames in about 40 minutes and a knock down was called at 10:52 p.m., Prange said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
