A motorcyclist who was thrown from his 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle over a Santa Monica (10) Freeway overpass in downtown Los Angeles was a Los Angeles resident.
Richard Barnwell was 53 years old, according to coroner’s Lt. David Smith.
The crash was reported about 11:20 p.m. Thursday on the transition to the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Barnwell crashed into a concrete barrier wall and was ejected, according to the CHP. He went off the overpass and landed on Venice Boulevard, where he was pronounced dead by a Los Angeles Fire Department paramedic, the CHP said.
The crash investigation continued, the CHP said.
