County firefighters managed to contain a brushfire that scorched about five acres of grass in Antelope Acres.
The fire, which ignited near West Avenue A and 105th Street West, was reported around 6:50 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The blaze was fanned by 20 to 25 miles per hour northwest winds, fire officials said. Some firefighters will remain at the scene to handle hot spots.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
Antelope Acres is an unincorporated Los Angeles County area in the Antelope Valley, about 13 miles northwest of Lancaster.
