It took firefighters about 45 minutes Sunday evening to stop the forward progress of a two-acre brushfire in Altadena.

The fire was reported at 8:40 p.m. at Hollyslope Road and Loma Alta Drive, according to a dispatcher at the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The first arriving firefighters said one acre was involved and set about laying hoses and digging barriers of cleared vegetation around the fire.

At 10:21 p.m., the firefighters reported stopping the fire’s forward progress at two acres with work underway to put out hot spots within that area.

No injuries were reported.
