A fire that began in an recreational vehicle in Irwindale Monday and threatened two 100-gallon Freon tanks stored on the property was extinguished.

The fire at 5263 N. Fourth St. was reported at 4:22 p.m., Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Cheryl Sims said.

The tanks were leaking and the fire department sent out equipment to keep them cooled down, Sims said.

The department also requested a HazMat and Health Hazard team to come to the property. Utility companies were also notified about the problems, Sims said.

The fire was extinguished and operation concluded at 7:17 p.m., said Dispatch Supervisor Martin Rangeo.

No injuries were reported.
