Firefighters were searching Monday afternoon for a man who was apparently seen entering a burning commercial building in the Central Alameda area of Los Angeles.
The fire was reported just after 3:35 p.m. at the one-story building located at 1001 E. 60th St., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
One firefighter suffered a non-life-threatening injury in a 5-foot fall that occurred during the firefight and was taken to a hospital, Humphrey said. No other injuries were reported.
The fire was reported to be “largely contained” by about 4:25 p.m., though crews were searching for the man who was reportedly seen entering the building before LAFD personnel arrived, but was not seen exiting, Humphrey said.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
