Firefighters have stopped the forward progress of a one-acre brush fire in the Angeles National Forest in the Palmdale area Monday.
The fire was first reported at 10:40 p.m. Sunday on the Angeles Forest Highway, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Jeremy Stafford.
The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert shutting down north and southbound lanes of the Angeles Forest Highway at Forest Service Road Fh59 to facilitate the firefighting effort.
