Authorities Monday identified a motorist who was killed in a single-vehicle crash on the San Diego (405) Freeway near Encino over the weekend.
Robert Salvati, 33, of Van Nuys died at the scene about 2:45 a.m. Sunday on the northbound freeway at Mulholland Drive, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office and the California Highway Patrol.
According to the CHP, Salvati was traveling northbound at unknown speed in a red Nissan Rogue when he allowed the vehicle to veer off the roadway and up an ascending embankment, ultimately striking a freeway pole.
Salvati was the lone occupant of the Nissan, the CHP reported.
Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the CHP’s West Valley area office at 818-888-0980.
