A fire burned through the roof of a commercial building housing an apparent marijuana grow operation in the Canoga Park area Monday, leaving three people with injuries.
Firefighters were sent to the 8400 block of North Canoga Avenue about 12:20 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Some possible explosions were reported from inside the single-story building as the flames raged and sent a thick plume of black smoke into the air, according to the LAFD.
More than 130 firefighters were sent to the scene, and paramedics treated three people for injuries, one with possible burns, fire officials said.
The firefighting effort transitioned to a defensive operation, with crews working to prevent the flames from spreading to other buildings. Traffic was routed away from the location as a precaution.
