Firefighters with an assist from sprinklers inside the building knocked down a fire in one unit of an apartment building in Westlake.
The fire inside the apartment at 440 S. Bonnie Brae St. was reported at 1:07 p.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
The department dispatched 20 firefighters to the scene and extinguished the flames in 11 minutes, Humphrey said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
