A fire damaged a strip mall in Sherman Oaks, but no one was hurt, authorities said Thursday.

Firefighters sent to 15033 Ventura Blvd., near Kester Avenue, at 10:48 p.m. Wednesday gained the upper hand on the flames in about an hour, and some firefighters remained on scene afterward, dousing hot spots, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation by personnel from the LAFD Arson and Counter-Terrorism Section.
