A man was severely burned in a fire Sunday evening in North Hollywood.
The fire began as an outside blaze that spread into a garage, then to the outside of the house, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said,
The department sent 21 firefighters and extinguished the flames in about 15 minutes, Humphrey said. Firefighters managed to keep the flames to the outside of the home.
During the firefight, firefighters encountered a man with second-degree burns to his hands and legs, Humphrey said. He was transported to a hospital in serious condition.
