A Silver Alert was issued Thursday on behalf of a missing 75-year-old man last seen in the Exposition Park area of Los Angeles.
James Ernest Smith was last seen about 6 a.m. Wednesday in the area of West 35th Place at Denker Avenue, near the Betty Hill Senior Citizen Center, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued the Silver Alert at the request of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Smith is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 250 pounds, with gray hair and light-colored eyes. He was last seen wearing burgundy pajamas and a burgundy robe.
Anyone who knows of Smith’s whereabouts was asked to call 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearance of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
